TripIt

If you travel a lot, TripIt can help organise your itinerary.    This great application lets you forward your flight, hotel, car reservation e-mails (it doesn’t matter where you book your travel) and the travel organiser pulls together a master itinerary including maps, directions, weather information and guides. You can also add your own notes and share with your Virtual PA, partner or colleagues.  Other features include text messages about flight delays, cancellations and gate changes, and the ability to track frequent flyer miles and hotel points all in one place.

Star any message to categorise an email and turn it into a task. List and add tasks within Gmail and review them according to their ‘complete by’ date.

Group emails by project, or context and keep them categorised by using folders so that you can easily see what needs your attention – actions in projects, tasks you are waiting for others to complete, etc.  You can easily combine multiple outstanding actions into one email, and even receive a reminder of who a contact is!
