This new year I will be marketing a new service… drafting articles for blogs. Blogging takes time and, as we all know only too well, time is something many people are short of. Business owners and entrepreneurs know they SHOULD be writing a regular blog but too few of them actually get around to it. That’s why I will be offering to help them by drafting their articles and publishing them, helping to increase their website visibility. This service will go hand in hand with designing and publishing their E-mail newsletters which have proved successful thus far. So, if you know anyone who hasn’t got around to sorting out their blog, here are a few tips to get them going:
- Keep it simple: Most people are scanners and blog posts are easier to scan and read when paragraphs are not too lengthy.
- Your title is a summary: Remember that people want to know what your blog posts are about so think about your title – it needs to describe nicely what you are writing about.
- Make your headings relevant, clear and search engine friendly
- Insert images these can help to draw attention to a specific post, add color to your blog, and help with search engine optimization. There are lots of sites which offer free photos which you can use on your blog.
- Keep your post neat by using lists to break up long blocks of text. This will make your blog easier to read.
- Provide Links within your text as these are ranked higher by the search engines than non-linked text. Happy New Year and Happy Blogging!
